Informative #1: I chose to do an informative essay because it's important for people to understand that this idea of witchcraft didn't just appear but was triggered by many other things and concerns their religion. I used reliable sources like history.org and the historyofMassachusetts.org to inform you of the trials.
Informative #2: I chose to do an expository essay because it's important for people to understand that their religious beliefs are not always the most humane and no hanging of innocent people should be justified. I used https://msu.edu/~shahfaiz/Salem/religion.html which focuses on the religious aspects of these trials.
Functional #1: I chose to do an ad on the witches in Salem because it was important to spread awareness about this devil spirit. This was a huge hysteria and the town wanted everyone to play a part in it and help track down the witches amongst the town. After reading about the trials from sites like history.org and the historyofMassachusetts.org I found that this was a massive hunt and the town wanted everyone involved.
Functional #2: I chose to do a diary because it shows the view point of someone living in that time which is important for a reader who doesn't know about the Salem witch trials. Most people lived this period in fear not knowing if they would be accused next and brought to trial. Women were especially targeted during this time because women were much more "fragile" I found from https://msu.edu/~shahfaiz/Salem/religion.html also a teenage girl was making most these accusations about people being witches so older women were much more frightened.
Functional #3: I chose to do a police report because it shows how little of a conflict during this time can have such a big consequence. Everything and anything that was abnormal during this time was thought to be witchcraft. It's important for readers to know that any little suspicious activity could result in going to trial to be hanged. I used information from The Crucible to make this police report because it was an actual incident where someone was brought to trial.
Literary/ creative #1: I chose to do this poem because it really dives into the emotions it was like living in that time period where they thought that witches were amongst them. The whole town had become hysteric and paranoid making everyone live in fear for something that wasn't even real. I found in my research that many people were fearful to defend themselves so there was a lot going on.
